My Favourite UX Design Tools as of 2025

Some of my favourite UX design tools that I’m still using in 2025.

Design (Graphic, UX, Web)

  • Figma & FigJam – as of today my main design tool, the bread and butter.
  • Sketch, Adobe XD (not much anymore)
  • Adobe Photoshop & InDesign
  • Whiteboard & Markers (or Paper & Pencil) – by far my favourite.
  • Miro, Apple Freeform

UX Research

  • Optimal Workshop
  • UserTesting
  • Maze, Dovetail
  • Askable – for doing online interviews and recruiting participants
  • SyntheticUsers – experimented with it, but haven’t used extensively.

Data & Analytics

  • Google Analytics
  • FullStory – session replays and click-maps: very helpful, but only if it is set up properly.
  • Hotjar, Crazy Egg

User-Testing & AB Testing

  • Optimizely – mostly for A/B testing at Optus
  • Adobe Target
  • Unbounce – my favourite A/B testing tool when budget is tight. Also a good landing page builder for marketing campaigns.
  • Webflow Optimize (formerly Intellimize) – optimisation tools built into the Webflow ecosystem.

Accessibility & Testing

  • Chrome: WAVE (Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool)
  • Chrome: Color Accessibility Checker
  • Google Chrome DevTools

Prototyping

  • Figma, Figma Make
  • Axure

WebDev & (Vibe)Coding

  • Cursor
  • Adobe Dreamweaver – my favourite website development environment. I know I know, it’s a dinosaur but still …
  • Google Chrome DevTools & Firefox Firebug
  • CMS: WordPress, Drupal, AEM, Webflow

Collab & Documentation

  • Jira & Confluence
  • Notion, Evernote
  • Miro
  • Google Docs
  • MS Teams, Zoom, Slack
